...my Mom buried her Dad Max E. Schaefer, he was 94 years old. He served in WWII and worked for a living as a bus driver. I asked my Mom why she buried him in his overalls, here is what she wrote:
Grandpa was a soldier. He also was a farmer. Although he always held a job off the farm, his first love was his cows and garden. I chose to bury him in overalls instead of his Army uniform because, growing up, I rarely saw Dad dressed in anything else unless he was going to work, whereby he wore a uniform, or he was going to a funeral or some other special occasion. I always remember him in overalls...with a red handkerchief stuck somewhere, either his back pocket, his front pocket, or inside the bib of the overalls. Although the War was important to him, I think the farm was truly his life...how he lived, how we all remember him. Toughskins...fitting, wouldn't you say?
A co-worker of mine Marcus helped me recently with a TV commercial project and in return for his help I promised to photograph his band My Own Device playing at THE FOX THEATER in Boulder. Below is that photo collection.
Six weeks, and over 100 hours of footage shot on several Canon EOS 5D Mark IIs culminates in this remarkable, 4-minute time lapse of a Space Shuttle launch. (via: Gizmodo)
